Prior to scheduling a procedure, we recommend the following steps: - Call the Indian embassy or consulate in your country to verify Visa requirements and other formalities.
- Should you and your physician determine that treatment at KMC Hospital is appropriate, request a medical service cost estimate of your anticipated treatment.
- Medical Visas introduced for patients traveling to India for medical treatment will be processed on priority.
Checklist before your travel - Make sure all your travel documents and medical records are in order, including:
A passport, Visa and other photo identification - Full medical records (translated into English). Include all test reports and surgery reports, treatment records, and laboratory results.
- All films / CD (for example, X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, angiograms) along with relevant reports translated into English
- Glass pathology slides if applicable, along with the original report and a copy of the pathology report translated into English
- Fill prescriptions for any medications that you must take regularly and bring them with you. Some medications may not be approved for distribution in India and we may need to identify the generic version.
Financial Information Should you and your physician determine that treatment at KMC Hospital as appropriate, you can request a medical service cost estimate relating to your anticipated treatment.
The KMC International Patient Care Center will prepare an estimate for you including advance deposits, consultation charges, surgery or treatment costs and hospital fee. Currency exchange facility is available at the hospital.
Understanding the payment and billing process at the hospital is advisable. Medical Records, Appointments, Consultations Patients medical records can be faxed, mailed or electronically transmitted along with applicable films and test results. Our physicians will carefully and patiently review your medical history to determine the best course of treatment and whether it is in the interest of a patient to travel to Mangalore to receive his/her treatment. When necessary, the center will arrange preliminary telephone consultations between patients, their personal physicians and our specialists. We then provide the fastest possible response regarding each patient’s selection to receive treatment at our facilities along with the length of time a patient needs to spend in the hospital. An update to your physician The center keeps referring physicians informed about your treatment and care on a periodic basis throughout the treatment period. A complete medical report will be given to you at the time of discharge in the form of a Discharge Summary. When a patient returns home, we regularly confer with the referring physician on the patient’s progress as well as necessary follow-up care.
